About

This blog should be about and will about my journey towards CCIE certification.

In 2004 I have entered in the world of Cisco by studying ccna curriculum, wireless and security.
In 2005 I got my certification in PC Troubleshooting (more…).
In 2006 I passed the CCNA exam which expired in 2009.
In 2011 I passed the CCNP ROUTE exam.
aug 2014 – certified in CCNP Routing and Switching.
feb 2015 – certified in CCNA Security.

In 2013 I have started to actually work with VMware 5.0, ESXi hosts, NetApp devices, in 2014 I decided to enroll into a 5 days training course and a few weeks later I passed the VCP5-DCV (VCP 550) exam. So I know a little bit about virtualization, HA, DRS, and backups.

In the past years I bought a couple of devices and a 21U rack, that you can see below. I have changed the blog’s name 2 times and this should be the last one. The labels on the devices have the old name.

The rack has:

  • 1x 2509 Access router, with 1-8 asynchronous cable (octal cable) (I should have bought a 2511 with 2 octal cables);
  • 1x 2501 router;
  • 3x 2950 switches 24 ports;
  • 1x 3550 switch 48 ports (with EMI IOS);
  • 3x 1841 routers;
  • 1x 2620 router;
  • 1x 2811 router;
  • 1x 3550 switch 24 ports
